Qian joins UCSB as an Assistant Professor!
Congratulations to Qian Yu for joining UCSB as an assistant professor. Qian made outstanding contributions to the field of "coded computing". He was the recipient of the Thomas M. Cover Dissertation Award from IEEE Information Theory Society, which is awarded annually to only one doctoral dissertation contributing to the mathematical foundations of any of the information sciences within the purview of the society.
